Maths WK8 T4

This week for math we did a lot of things such as square roots and exponents
also we did word problems lastly we did some division.

Why animals should not be kept in zoos?

Why animals should not be kept in zoos?

Listen up! How would you feel if you were locked up in a cage? You wouldn’t feel happy well, that is how the animals feel, what animals you may ask they are the animals that live in zoos in those tiny cages where they can barely move around in and they spend all their lives not able to live life freely like the other animal species.

I think it is not fair so you have to do something about it, if no one will I will do something about this disrespect to the animals that entertain us at zoos let them be free they need your help so let's do this let animals be free. Animals are being deprived of their natural structure and companionship.

Asian Elephants working in timber camps live longer than those born in zoos also African elephants in the wild live more than three times as long as those kept in zoos.

How would you feel if you were an animal living like this? Does that change your mind? Do you think you will help keep those poor animals out of zoos.

Reading WK7 T4

This week for reading we did a hole lot of stuff such as making a crossword
then we did compering the view then we made a cartoon about how the men
didn't want women to vote.

Maths WK7 T4

This week for math we did some bracket working out then we explained
how to do exponents the next task we did was a figure it out.

why we have to stop environmental issues?

Why we need to stop environmental issues?

I am Charlotte from Papakura in Auckland I would like to make a
complaint. In this letter you will be reading about a park,
litter, and other problems, some of these problems have
ideas to help solve the problem.

First, there is too much
rubbish around, so I was thinking to clean up our street
we live on and other streets around ours but I can not
achieve this goal because there is only me and lots of
rubbish. I was thinking that you may be able to notify
people and ask them if they could help each other and
clean up both sides of their street. Then they can start
reducing their waste that goes into landfill.

Second, I have also noticed that some people are paying for
the compost bins but they aren’t actually using them
because they have handmade compost bins or brought
bins in their backyard that they put there compost in
witch is really unfair for the people that have their own
compost bins in their backyard.

Third, On Sunday the 16th of September 2018, I went
for a drive to McLean park and were very upset
because I couldn’t play and have fun at the park
because there are construction fences up in the park.
Now there is no place to play and have fun or go
for a refreshing walk in the park. But now they
have unblocked it and there is streets now not
green anymore.Red is where we go into the
park, white is the boundary and also all the
space we could play in, and orange is where we can play now.

Fourth, plastic bags need to stop right away so I came
up with an idea instead of plastic bags for compost
and wheelie bin liners just put the rubbish or food
scraps in the provided bin as they are without any
liners or plastic bags or get some paper bags.
I know that shops have taken some plastic
bags away but there is still some plastic bags
in shops that can kill animals because they might
think it is food. If people's bins get smelly or look
very dirty they can wash them with a hose and
scrub them. Then they can leave them out in the sun to dry.

Fith, petrol taxes. The rate on liquefied petroleum gas is
31.61 pence per kilogram. The rate on natural gas used
as fuel in vehicles is 24.70 pence per kilogram and the
rate on fuel oil burned in a furnace or used for heating is
10.70 pence per liter. I think that is polluting the earth that
we live on which that will poison the soil and other stuff to.

I hope you can help to make a change in this world.

Why we need to stop environmental issues?

Why we need to stop environmental issues?

Listen up! Do you think we should stop environmental issues?
They are wrecking our world such as greenhouse effect,
global warming, Pollution, climate change. These are
some of the things I will be talking about.

Greenhouse effect is a radiation from a planet’s
atmosphere warms the planet's surface to a
temperature out of the ordinary, what would it
be like without this atmosphere. Active gases
in a planet's atmosphere radiate energy in all
directions which can cause epic changes to the planet.

You could help by using less heat and air conditioning
in your house also replace old light bulbs, drive less
and drive smart. Also buy energy efficient products,
use less hot water, use the off switch when your not
using something and plant more trees in your backyard (if you have one).

Global warming affects most of the oceans which
causes rising sea levels due to expansion and
melting of  glaciers and ice sheets, and warming
the oceans surface which is leading to increased
temperature. You could help by changing a light bulb,
drive less, recycle more, check your ties if there is
a hole, use less hot water, avoid products with a lot
of packaging like individually wrapped prunes, plastic
wrapped bananas, pre wrapped corn, individually
wrapped jelly beans and shrink wrapped potatoes
and cucumbers.

Air pollution causes high levels which can
cause an increased risk of a heart attack
, wheezing, coughing and breathing problems
, and irritation of the eyes, nose and throat.
Air pollution can also cause worsening of
existing heart problems, asthma, and other
lung complications. You could help by
conserving energy such as turning off the
lights, computers, electric appliances when not in use.

Climate change affects the nature of global rainfall,
evaporation, snow, stream flow and other factors
that affect water supply and quality. These specific
impacts are warmer water temperatures which affect
water quality and accelerate water pollution. You can
help by taking actions to reduce your greenhouse
gas emissions and adapt to the impacts of climate
change. Here are some examples of free and
low cost actions you can take everyday.

I hope you have learnt something about
environmental issues and maybe you could
do something one day about environmental
issues. What could you do to save our planet?
