Do you know a lot of things about Matariki?
Matariki is the maori new year when we
celebrate the seven sisters. Matariki is a
maori cultural new year.

Facts about Matariki

It’s Matariki in July we can’t believe the beautiful sky.
Matariki is the maori name for a group of seven stars
which is known as a star cluster, people think that
Matariki as a mother star of six daughters often
referred as seven sisters others Matariki as eyes of god.
Ranginui the sky father, Papatuanuku the earth mother
separated from their children to the god of the wind
Tawhirimatea became angry tearing out his eyes and
\ hurling them into heaven. Matariki appears in the
eastern sky sometime around the shortest day of the
year it was thought to determine how successful the
harvest crop will be in the coming season. There is a
saying that the brighter the stars the more productive
the crop will be also Matariki has two meanings both
refer to a star cluster. Matariki means Tiny eyes and
Matariki means eyes of god.

Dear Glow Show Company

Dear The Glow Show Company,

Thank you for giving our school free
tickets,  I loved your glow show so
much I was blown away what you did.
I was really astonished by how you did
all of the puppets like the nine stars, fish,
stingray and other puppets.

I liked the sounds and how you made the
puppets move to make them look like
they were actually real life. I really like
the way you sang at the end it was
very nice also I was amazed by three
people doing all that you must have
been exhausted after the show.

If I had a favorite character, It would
be the Taniwha because the tail was
so cool how you moved it. My second
favorite character was the satellite
because it made funny noises when
it said Dora square pants. My third favorite
character was the star that said my Instagram.

Thank for the great show

Wearable Art Show

Luminousent bright lights shine through the auditorium where hordes of people sit and steer at the stage ready for the next costume to appear in sight it was a terasenasours.

The thundering roar of the audience cheering along with clapping it was like a roaring tornado of noise. Adults cheering like we were famous. Footsteps strolling along the catwalk. Music played uniquelee in the auditorium well the crowd went wild about the different costumes.

I could taste disgusting cardboard mask over my face and the feathers that tickled my nose. I tasted the deluscious cookies, muffins and muesli bars I ate before I went on stage.

I could feel my sweaty hands slipping off my top to my sides. The feathers tickling my nose as I walk on stage ready for the lights to turn on.

I smell the strawberry fog drifting through the air and the sweat and body odor from the audience. The paint on my mask also I smell people's excitement. I smell the hair spray people are wearing.

Summer is Coming

                                 Summer is coming

The seagulls know,
They fight for food and scraps we throw.

Summer is coming
The Sandflies know,
They irritate us wherever we go.

Summer is coming
The Sun knows,
The hot metal slide burns our toes.

Summer is coming
The campers know,
The crowded highway moves real slow.

Summer is coming
The people know,
They're getting new togs while they wait to go.

Summer is coming
The students knows,
Sitting in the classroom eager to go.

Summer is coming
The Ice-cream van knows,
They start by handing out Gelato.

Summer is coming
My dad knows,

      stacking firewood to go.
